I wrote this about my friend who passed away from cancer a few years back. He was a fun kid and always enjoyed living life for God. I thank God for giving me the time I had with him, and I'm glad he found Christ. So I'm hoping to catch up with him over a beer in heaven, though I doubt there will be beer there. Well, you get my point.....

Going to the doctors

for the third time this week.

His face was getting paler

and it seemed tougher to speak.

Not much more he'd like to do

than sign up to be a dancer.

But he wouldn't even try the shoe

with his fatal kind of cancer.

Always confined to bed

with no more to do than pray.

It was hard to lift his head

each and every day.

I hope I'll see him there

down the road in heaven.

For he loved the Lord without his hair

even at the age of eleven.
