This was the first thing I ever wrote. I was in a study class and we were having a discussion about fear. Is it an emotion? What is it? So I wrote what fear was to me. But personally, I think we have nothing to fear. Jesus Christ is always there for us. The only "fear" we should have, is out of reverence for God.

Running down the steps, footsteps I hear.
Never slowing, never stopping.
It consumes my life, keeps my awake.
Neither man nor beast makes this noise,
but forever it shall resound.
Never slowing, never stopping.
The fear bellowing cannot contain curiosity,
I reach the steps, and I see a figure.
A figure that haunts my dreams.
Never slowing, never stopping.
I peer through darkness, I recognize it,
I see my shadow, surprised I was.
I return to bed still leaving the racket behind.
Never slowing, never stopping.
I think I saw it, my fear.
I fear not rain, not thunder, nor snow.
I fear only what I may become.
The fear settles, for Christ has found me.
Finally found, never forgetting
