Did this during a freewrite about childhood memories. Enjoy, hope someone can somewhat relate

Days alone in the shed,

we never knew we couldn't be fed.

Dad worked long hours,
we had to take cold showers.
Board games and red roses,
soaked wet from the neighbor's hoses.
No get away, there was no escape,
time was frozen in those black and white tapes.
Those were the days,
now they're little but a haze.
