It isn't easy losing family members to war.

You could've just told me

I know  freedom isn't free.

You gave it all out there

but your reward wasn't fair.

I didn't ask you for your life

or to bear all that strife.

Yet you gave it for me and mom

and we forgive whoever dropped that bomb.

I would've stopped them if  I knew

war would claim you too.

You were the greatest father

and your bore our flag with honor.
