The Struggle As I Think

These purple bandits

__will all go mad when they

Go out their minds tonight!

I'll sit and wonder

__what happened to my soul

As I reach the field goal

__when I kick off

It'll be a summer load

And a fortune at a gas pump

I can't get a break

So I'll lay this one final egg

And if it don't shine

I'll come up with the lime

To put in my Corona

But I may be seated upon cracks

In my foundation of sanity

I won't thrive

I'll just dive

And "plop" out of the box

Never knowing why

Slowly I won't be able to figure out

"Am I not coming down?"

I guess that's a stupid question

For, the safety of my heart

Is growing cold

And if I find no matches

I will not spark a single flame

To burn all of these thoughts out

So nobody will gaze

Maybe when my luck runs out

I will be O.K.

But if I don't get inspired

How will the horses

Ever eat hay?

I will reach the day

That I've heard it all before

And if you'll be a bore

Just you tell me how
