A Magic In The Making

In my mind I can only think thoughts

I see you suffering

"Is it my fault?"

The voyage of disaster

Is a terrible place

The wrecking ball of laughter

It laughs in my face

My world can crumble any minute

Feels like I can lose my life

In any given hour

To keep my mind off of it

I gotta focus on you

You're in bed with a sickness

What can I do?

I feel so helpless

'Cause it's beyond my power

I want you to get well

I wanna see you better

The Lord brought me

Into your hands

But that same God

Puts destruction in peoples' paths

Always makin' deals with evil

They both treat us like we're all a game

First they agree on our happiness

Then they take it away

The balance of spirituality

Is a fucked up thing

I'd like to have moved to a safer

Much bigger place than I have

So I could take you in

And just be your man

But The God that controls our lives

Separates you and I

And gives you thee authority

For me to move into your place

With the chances that we could divorce

And that I'd be homeless

I know I'm not a man

God is showing me that

I am only a boy

Doing what I can

All I have is you in the world

Because God has always seen it fit

To let what I can do

Be good enough for you

But if I had it my way

I'd be more than enough for you

Things could never go wrong

And you could be so happy

And we wouldn't have to worry

About anything

But "this is the world" "we live in"

And the devil always exists

Making deals with God

That goes against peoples' wishes

I'll never be perfect

When God made me this way

I don't know if you'll say "no"

And never marry me anyway

But I have no reason not to ask

I want our love to stay

And grow into a magical thing

I love you because you're a miracle

A magic in the making
