And Here Comes The Flies

I did not have to like this world

So I loved it instead

I was always told

__not to cling onto material things

But even my work is in the form of matter

I was casted away like a fishing line

But like the little boy I was

__just never caught nothing

I heard the world scream and holler

Pointed the gun at my own reflection

__and only broke another mirror

When the world laughed at me

I was quite O.K. with it

Being my only means of interaction

But when I picked up a brick

To fight back

__even the principle just laughed

It's like my ass was funny

And maybe it is

But, if I let the flies in

__who's gonna chase them away for me this time?
