Before I Be Careful

-

Soon you will know my mind

Watch and see

As your spoon runs away from me

Often, the miracles of yonder

Beyond the bear traps

Hold no meaning

But if I weigh myself accurately

Could I have lost some weight?

In this pork belly town

I'll just stay here

Messing around

Finding no truth in anything

And yet, feeling sober

Even though I've drank a half a pint

And ate the worm that came with it

Maybe I'm not meant to feel drunk

Whatever

I guess it's wrong

To carry on like I've been chosen

To wreck my life not knowing

Even Pinocchio could lie to me

And I would fall for it

Even if you can never hear me laugh

I know you would never dare to call me "mad"

Just let me sleep on my tomorrow

And watch as the word slips thru

__my finger tips

And as I bleed the pain

Even whatever I think of

__won't stop me from feeling dumb

It's war where nobody knows it's taken

But I should never care

I should not mind

And if I'm here for forever

What else could take my mind

__off of you?

As you lie there lying to me with your eyes

It's only a mistake

__to be on top of you

And yet we're beginning

We're just gonna be fooled into doom

Just not knowing

__another way

A better way to hold back the fucking

'Cause urges are urges

And if you say you love me

It's over

I'll catch you again

__the next time you turn a corner

Maybe you'll come inside my car

And maybe you'll take ev'rything too far

Killing me in the moment

__of becoming "nothing" once more
