Don't Get Lost In There

You seem to be doing perfectly well

I just wish they could see that now

My heart pleads for your freedom

Fears of your staying all cooped up

Clogs my heart like butter

I just want your hospitalization to be over

I commend you for lasting this long in there

I just couldn't do it

I've only been visiting you

And I already don't like it in there

How you can make it this long without smoking

__is beyond me

It must be why you're Ativanning

The people in there are nuts

__and I fear for your safety

I don't understand how being with worser crazies

Is supposed to make you less crazy

But I guess isolation just sucks

It's just starting to seem

__like you are stuck

Forced to behave

__and conform to rules

While every one else in there

__gets to act a fool anyway

How come they aren't on restriction?

What a fucked up system

I pray for you

'Cause it's all I can do

While I have my own nightmares

Every night

Just wanting to hold you tight

Wanting to go places with you

Just like old times

It's a wonder why I haven't cried

Maybe I'm just beyond hurt

I'm just tired of being dished the dirt

But I'm used to being ran over like this

I'm just fed up with the world

Taking me away from my love

But I am powerless

__and so are you

All we can do is surrender

'Cause thee opposite does no good

Please, get out of there

Don't get lost in the system

I just can't handle it

It will make you worse again

__to stay up there too long

You don't deserve to stay locked up

Please, don't give up

Please, don't give up
