I Didn't Die

City of Fry Bench

__top of the world

Head city of the bay

__where the girls are hot!

And the bitches play

Home is where the heart is

Now that I live in this town

Morning comes fast

__once I am asleep

But when the sun goes down

__I sure feel alive

____on my stomping ground

The chips in my mind

And the Pringles in a jar

The world of lights

__is just outside the door

I remember letting my love-life go

When I came here

__and became too cheep to fuck

I didn't give a fuck

It's not worth all the bullshit

And the drama anymore

__I'm sick of it

I can be happy alone

And if I have to leave Berkeley

At least I won't be in the streets

__I'm not shooting my block off

I need that for the show to go on

Because, my life

Is full

Of all I need

__all I need!

Thee hours

__of bliss

And years of joy

A life full of healing

As the potatoes

__and apples

They are pealing

No more heart brokenness

Love is over

And I'm staying sober

Just as clean a whistle

Like a mad man patrolling the streets

Whistling Dixie

As the chief of my own policies

Stained with relief

The skies all picked me up

Now that there is no flashlight

Being shined in my eyes

I can go on and be free to be me

Holding on to the stars

__that I catch in the night
