I Haven't Felt This Close To You In A Very Long Time

-

Darkness is my Heaven

And daylight, my Hell

If I could lose myself with you

There would not have to be a Hell

But you're not here with me

In my shelter from the rain

A place in my solitude

A spot I hold for you

Not the silliest idea

Just the most laughable by mankind

There'll never be a "you"

And that makes it funny

I can never join the joke

And feel the giggle, myself

For, the joke is my without-you-ness

And all that's been

That can't become what it is

How will a ringing bell

Hit me in the head this time?

Is it my turn to climb?

The mountain is meant to be mine

You've said your goodbyes

Now comes the time
