Never In My Wildest Dreams

Where my mind is going to take me

On this last day of winter

Is beyond me by all means

I could be utterly mad

__that my best friend is gone

Or I could be completely happy

__that he is safe

____and O.K.

We have a lot to catch up on

But my 'phone is still not ringin'

"Did his sister forget to tell him?"

"What time zone are they in?"

These things I ponder

And the rushing overflow

__of memories

Are all coming to forefront

__in my mind

I sit here and wonder "why?"

"How did we get to be

So different after we grew up?"

I am not like him

__at all

Even our graffiti is different

Our luck has never been the same

He's always getting some one pregnant

And all my women

__have been on birth control

Or already pregnant

__by some one else

Or claiming to be unfertile

__and giving me a condom

He always was

__the successful one

And I've always been thee underachiever

I never understood our differences

And I pro'bly never will

We have different ways

Of paying our bills

But it's always been that way

__for all my real friends

That just makes me more

__sick in the head

But my insanity won't come to an end

Not just yet
