The Wait That's Become "Impossible"

-

There may be no reason to wait

Just to call you

But I'm afraid of you

I feel an ice between us

It is shocking

And cold

Like I'm bothering you

But "so what"

Right?

It's only in my mind

It's not in reality that "you never call me"

Even though it's really true

But I can't show you my fear

Because you don't like that

You actually hate that

So I stay silently

__above you

Not calling

Not texting

Not going down

__to knock on your door

I'm a screw up

__once more

I don't get women

I don't get love

I'm a no-one

Dare me to go on?

I will

I must not really be making you thrilled

__at all

____by asking you out

But I'm not about to doubt

__that I even should have asked you

I hold you in my heart

__dearly

Even though it's "clearly insanity"

We probably never will be the same again

And the water that is poured

__all over my head

Will not clear my thinking

For an "us" to begin
