What Changes Ev'rything

Whenever the dropping of like flies ever begins

Whenever the words of songs

__get sung like catch fraises

When the sun is pealed back from the sky

Hang loosely, like a fried tomato in the wind

When you come close to tears

When you forget it taste like beer

__and keep right on at it

When you fall short of trying

You'll sit there and you'll wonder

Who's gonna taste your dying

I hit my head, just crying

I slapped my own wrists for lying

__and ate the pepper spray

I heard the fog pack up it's bags, and roll away

Cut short like a feather that fell

I won't hear the dead complain

I hear them threaten

__to take away what I have

I will never be free

When they have the power of the supernatural
