Why Such A Number?

My intentions are spoiled

I grow weary and tired

I'll mean nothing to you

I'll only end up smoking the wrong side

__of the foil

The way I am playing with fire

Writing my way into falling in love with you

Maybe there doesn't have to be

__a full 100 women loved by me

____before some one can actually love me

Maybe 1996 was such a great year

With number 31

__that you'd be the number I wanna marry

Because I can't get number 31 back

I've insanely tried

__countless times

Until she heard some news

__that forever kicked me out of her life

I'll never forget her un-understandable

__unforgiving ways

Because what I have done

__was inexcusable

____and unamendable

But maybe I don't need to be reminded

__of some one I lost like that

So maybe you should break my heart

And never give it back

Maybe it wouldn't hurt

Maybe I'll even laugh

Laugh like a mad man

And never look back

But maybe

Just maybe

You'll get me so involved with you

That I'll forget what number you are

And we can go very far

Far enough for at least me

__to forgive myself

Instead of living this Hell

Where you're a pretty woman

And I'm a horny man

Where you have the power

To break me as I am

Where you are next to break my heart

Only to leave me to fall apart

As the ship hits thee ark

__and my boat no longer floats

I'll stand here and laugh

No matter what is wrong with that
