Dear whomever this may concern,

I’m not gonna lie to you, life was pretty sweet. I did a lot of cool things, met a lot of awesome people, and had some really great times while I was here. Sure, I’m going to miss it, and looking back, there certainly are a couple of things that I would change. For the most part, however, I think that I lived really well, and had a generally positive effect on those that I met.

Oddly, I’m not sad to leave it behind. I’m going to miss my friends, that’s for sure, and my family. I’m going to miss my labrador, Annie. I’ll miss my coworkers. Sure, I guess that I’ll miss a good number of people. I mean, it’s not like I’m not ever going to see them again, we’ll all be together again, somewhere.

I won’t tell you that I’m not scared to die, but I am ready. It’s been a long struggle, and life hasn’t been easy. It’s been a great twenty-seven years, and I’ve appreciated moments. I may lose my existence to this disease, but I did not loose my life to my disease.

I knew love while I was here on earth, for the little time that I had. I knew that I would never live to see my children, but I can pass knowing that they will enter the world to live and feel the love that I did. That eases my pain. I will miss my wife, and I will miss the children I never had a chance to meet.

As I slip from this world into the waiting arms of whatever is to follow this world, I want you to know that no matter what you face, no matter what hardships life throws into you, that you can find joy. Your time on earth is precious. You have no excuse to be unhappy with the time that you have on earth. Each second is worth more amount of money than any man could ever amass. Spend your millions wisely.

Sincerely,

A dead man
