Faces; so many to choose from, some pretty, some not so pretty.

But.......I must eat faces.

I grab face, then bite it; bite down hard. Then chew face, chew and chew and chew and chew. Then pull hard with teeth, tear face away from skull. Warm red juice drips from meat, tastes bad. I almost throw it up, but make myself swallow juice. My mama always told me that I had to eat everything, if I wanted to be pretty someday, pretty like the faces I eat.

My mama says I was born deformed; I have hair on my face like dog, big ears, teeth crooked, sharp. Good for eating faces, mama says.

Mama says if I keep eating faces, someday their ''DNA'' will make me pretty, too.

So....I keep eating faces.

I find alot of faces in the park at night time; I never go out at day time, cause my face scares people, and they run away. Everytime I get done eating face, I always check pockets and purses for money. Mama says if I save enough money, I can get operation to make me even prettier.

I came home last night with lots of money, showed it to mama. She acted mad, said it wasn't enough, yelled at me, called me names. She does that when she drinks what she calls ''demon alcohol'', but drinks it anyway.

Then calls me names.

Bad ones.

Last night, she called me ugly.

It hurt my feelings. I lost my temper, hit mama.

She fell down, didn't get back up again.

I don't care, though; she'd lied to me about being pretty, about the money, the doctor.

About the faces.

So this morning, I ate mama's face.

Now I feel beautiful.
