Confusion masks my integrity

I thought I knew

Circumstance changes my view

I find myself restless

Blind in a haze of naivety

I find myself seeking redemption

It mockingly laughs at me

As I stumble before it

I bow to the answers

I do not have

They fly around me

As I lay crying

While I feel the world unfair

You see me as childish

Child-like I am

But inexperienced, I am not

My mouth opens

As webs of uncertainty seep out

Its spiders are like promises

Crawling away as I let go

I hate that as I’m here

Falling and failing miserably

You sit and watch me drown

As the water rushes over my hand

I’m sinking in my skin

Everything is out of sight

I try to keep my head above

But it falls to the bottom again.
