Smoke intruding the busy dark
Screaming can be heard
Then, a deafening silence
And she will appear

A light flashes, twinkles
On her shining brown skin
Silence turning to cheer
 She is about to begin

Dancing with your heart
Singing to the lights
She’s taking your breath away
With each move she makes

Presence commands attention
While her eyes emit glamour
With the flick of her hair
You see this world is her playground

The diva plays with your eyes
You see what she allows
As the rhythm entrances you
Picking at your senses

She will make her last turn
As you scream out her name
She disappears behind curtains
When will you see her again?

Behind heavy drapes
She prances to the back
Where softer lights will reveal
Her in mist of transition

Like a magic phenomena
You weren’t meant to see
She shreds the persona
Of the woman she can’t be

She glances in a mirror
Removes her wig at last
Revealing his short hair
and his long muscular back

Yes, you thought you saw
A diva dance in your eyes
But everything is a disguise
Should you peer inside

Reeling from adrenaline
He feels still in his chest
Walking through the door past you
Leaving an aromatic mist

For a split second
You can smell her scent again
But it isn’t her you see
It’s the man she’s always been
