A man fell from heaven
He bumped among the stars
Slowly falling to Earth
From God’s world to ours

With one look around
He pleaded with God to return
But he just wasn’t ready
There was too much to learn

Aimlessly idle in mind
He paced many a bustling street
Wind sweeping around him
Beautifully kissing the concrete

He was disgusted at the sight
Of such a dark, cruel place
Hope had left as the crows
Flew above him with grace

He reached deep down
Head to chest, but heart to sky
Trying to learn from himself
Asking a higher power ‘Why’

Why had he fallen from grace?
Why had life never spoken to him?
Why did he always drown,
When he tried so hard to swim?

He reflected inward
Searching through his soul
Not knowing what to look for
But knowing exactly where to go

He had always waited
In his own hourglass
Searching for a savior
To repent him from his past

He saw a glimmer of faith
It kept dimming as he chased
He couldn’t seem to hold on
Long enough to get a taste

But chase, he still did
Until he grabbed its hand
His grip tightened with might
But it slipped through like sand

Falling in devastation
He cried on his own shoulder
Body beaten, heart broken
His perseverance growing colder

Somehow, someway he stood
Glaring into his own eyes
With fiery determination
He would defeat demise

Inward, he looked again
This time darting towards the shine
Running like he lost it all
Running like the world lost time

Staring at mocking faith
He fell on it instead
Offering himself to belief
Slowly becoming one, staring ahead

He returned to our mortal world
With head up, shoulders back
Seeing beauty in dark devastation
Viewing it with the power to attack

A surge of power took his body
Washed him over in the night
Ever dark, but still he saw
He finally did something right
