You walk
Like someone I once knew
You’re face lights in the way
Of that same person, too

Your hair falls
In all the right places
And your voice dances
As my mind races

Yes, you do resemble
That person I used to know
But my heart shreds itself
Refusing my being to grow

While you are similar,
I fight to think you’re the same
But I should’ve realized
In your absence someone else came

Here stands this zombie
This repugnant outer shell
It will mock and tempt me
Like the most beautiful hell

An unfair, greedy vampire
That stole your past from me
You’re mimicking my memories
You aren’t who you used to be

My eyes will bleed in disbelief
My heart will cover my eyes
Your voice will dance again
But all I’ll hear are lies
