I must confess I don’t recall her entering my world.

I just know when she came, my ordered life unfurled.

I was like a sailing ship, plodding on calm oceans.

But she was such a catalyst, igniting my emotions.

Everyone knows she’s beautiful, such a delicate flower,

But very few are fortunate to experience all her power.

She has the skill to make you laugh, the guile to make you cry.

She has the touch to make you live, the wile to make you die.

You will find she’s the eye of the storm, controlling emotional winds.

Wielding her might to keep you at bay, it’s her heart she defends.

For if you are skilled enough to find a way inside,

You, too, will realize the secret she tries to hide.

When I held her heart in my hands, underneath the stars.

I was surprised to find her heart was covered with terrible scars.

It was too much, that moment in time, our quiet didn’t hold.

Deep inside her wounded heart, old fears quickly unfold.

I am ashamed to tell you now, that on that terrible day,

My strength it started wavering, I let her push me away.

Each day I wonder what would have been, if we didn’t part.

If only I was strong enough to heal her wounded heart.
