Cherry blossoms in bloom
How quickly her pink petalled virginity,
The whittling wind does snatch away ,
Scattering her maidenhood across the grass
Flung in a thoughtless
Thither of a rage ; Down to the lakeshore -
Where on the lawn , minuscule mosaics strewn ; dappled ;
And pure in the softest subtle pink scatter and reform again
In myriad shaped and shades .
Why does this rage of Nature ,
The puerile profligate splurge of late Spring
So heedlessly does waste away ;
Such beauty with such unseemly and unchaste haste ?
Why do the ravishing elements with such destructive intent
Tareher so brutally and so suddenly asunder
As if provoked by some elemental jealousy
Of such a timid flower which took so long to bloom.
She weeps as she’s divested of her beauty .
But her modesty will soon mend
When her leafs unfold , before the ogre
With his weeping globular eye abulging
Can gratify his wrathful pleasure .
For her flower comes before her leaf
And the bees have come and cross fertilised her pollen
And brought her seeds across the fields
Where she will bloom again .
And bloom so fiercely florid and heroically
For just some brief days in the capricious clime
Of the time , where all nature awakens in fresh lemons and Lime
