We were sitting on a bench beside the park one starry night, talking to each other while watching the bright lighted firmament that became an abode of the stars for billions of years. I was reclining my back on his healthy breast and I felt the rapid pulsation of his heart. On the other hand, his right arm clinched around my neck like a bent nail.

"Did you see that star?" He asked pointing his finger to the north.

"Yes," I replied.

"Did you know that star?"

"Of course," I said to him confidently. "That is the North Star."

He smiled and paused for a while and then he sighed.

"You know, I made one wish to that star for several times, but it wasn't granted," he said desperately.

"What's your wish then?" I asked.

He sighed again and stared at the north of the night sky where the North Star was.

"I will not be telling you about my wish," he said.

"But, why"? I asked him.

"They said, wish should be keep as secret for you to have it."

"And then, you believed too?"

He just nod. Then, there was another silence with us. Only the song of the lark broke the stillness that was with us at that moment. My eyes keep on staring on the glowing stars above us.

"You know Mark, the North Star doesn't grant wishes. It's just a heavenly body that exist within the universe when you and I are not yet in this world. It's just a heavenly body that sailors used to guide them on their way to their expeditions. It's not a wishing star."

"I know," he said with a cold smile. "I just tried to wish there to know whether it grant wishes or not."

"And...?"

"And I found out that it doesn't. Why, you don't believe in wishes?"

"You're my sweetheart yet you don't know about me."

"I'm so sorry, but I'm not an investigator."

"Fine. I don't!"

"Really?"

"Aye, my dear."

"But, why?"

I sighed for a moment. "Wish is ever in your self only. It is just something that you do not know how to have it. It is something that needs action in order for you to have it."

"No, that's a lie," he objected.

"It's the fact!"

"No!"

"And your basis is?"

He paused for a while.

"Try one wish on a falling star."

"Huh?" I wonder and started to laugh.

"What's funny?"

"Nothing. All right, I'll try wishing on a falling star the next time I'll saw one."

"Why not now? There's one falling star somewhere there! Did you see it Lucia?"

"Where. I see nothing at all."

"Really?" He whispered. "Just try to wish."

"Huh?"

"Hurry. Wish now before a minute!"

Though I'm not so sure about my wish, I started to close my eyes and wish comes from my heart. Eventually, after my wish, I opened my eyes and was surprise. Mark's lips is in approach with mine. Then, we kiss and was glad. My wish was granted.
