High Lord Harold Midheath is about to find himself in the middle of a war that he is not prepared for. As a High Lord his duty is to his King, but who is the rightful King?

King Cedric, the ferocious White Lion of the Wilds, returned home to his brother's Kingdom of Northum, and found the kingdom about to erupt in civil war. His nephews are both fighting for their father's crown. His brother's deathbed request is that he will help his chosen son succeed the throne.

King Cedric cannot get directly involved, at any sign of his interference in Northums politics the High Lords would unite against him, cutting off valuable supplies to his own kingdom.

What he really needs is an ally, someone he can trust, and who can be involved. He needs a High Lord, someone he can use as his voice within the this turbulent Kingdom.
