Albert At The Games

The crowds were gathered in Misty Wood to see all the famous names

Even Horn Nosed Horace the reigning champ of the Dragon Olympic Games

His medals gleamed in the midday sun as he welcomed loud applause

He stood atop the podium and let out triumphant roars.

Albert paid no attention to the noises  in the wood

He’d polished off a plate of cakes which had tasted rather good

He dosed under a chestnut tree and dreamed he’d be the winner

But when he woke he forgot all that and just thought about his dinner

The competitors all gathered for the last race of the day.

The hundred meter sprint  across the Woodland Way.

The starters gun was fired and they shot out of the blocks

Horace gained an early lead and waved at the royal box

Albert sat up with a start and sniffed the evening air

Was that pie and chips and mushy peas and dark chocolate éclair

He crept inside the food tent a smile upon his face

And polished of the winners feast at a new world record pace

The Dragon Games came to a close and Horace reigned supreme

The competitors arrived at the feast and let out a hungry scream

A contented dragon fell back asleep his belly full of dinner

When it came to eating champions there was really just one winner
