The burden of love this weight on my back.
What once was enough is now the thing that we lack.
Feelings run dry and passion replaced,
we now run away from the feelings we chased.
The promises turned cold and our love burned to ash.
Our tongs spit out words as our opposites crashed.
But we tiptoed around the bruises of realization
and bandaged the cuts with a more pleasing fiction.
Any thing to keep a love we both need.
A love that did flourish like a flower from a seed.
We depended on the love that we both built.
But then over time loves flower did wilt.
We watered it desperately with tears of false hope .
We fed it on denial, which helped us to cope.
We placed it in the past and told stories of our one desire.
We convinced our selves of our lies and re-lit a false fire.
The smoke blinded our eyes from a truth we never wanted to see ,
but once some thing is dead its dead ,
that's some times how it's just meant to be.
