A Look Inside Oneself

How you see it, how your mind chooses to understand it, is one’s own perception.
We ridicule, and judge others to mask our own imperfection.
We cover ourselves in paint seeking affection,
Unwillingly give of ourselves to avoid rejection,
Bury our feelings deep to avoid detection,
And when our misdoings are meant with objection,
We insist there must be some misconception.
Instead of taking the time to make a correction, we divert in another direction.
We refuse to admit to any transgression, and dare not peer at our own reflection.
We should all stop and ask ourselves the question, “Will I be forgiven for my own transgression?”

That's a very good question, DrCS. One that should be asked all the time, but which most people put off until the last moment. Everything else is just life being life. True words, yours. ~Tom
