Tired of this world i decide to create my place. A place where i can go and take a break from it all.

In My Domain

By: Joseph Lewis III

I close my eyes and confess that i am utterly depressed, causing my heart to stress at the thought of this worlds mess.

So i escape to my special place, this worlds problems i am no longer forced to face.

Like an architect i detail an atmosphere without doom,

With only the light from the sun, existing in a world with no moon.

So far from that place where hopelessness constantly screams,

I peer out across the ocean of unlimited dreams.

No country here under threat of nuclear war,

I am at peace and all i seek is more.

Lying in the green grass as if it is a bed,

Thankful for this place where i can clear my head

Clearing my mind of countries who let their children lye dead,

The richest people in the world but yet the precious ones go unfed.

A place where you can live where you please and no one is deported,

and angelic babies are born with no thoughts of being aborted.

Where the body is respected and not full of pains,

Where needles don't exist in one veins.

In my place I can bow my head and pray to the God that I please.

No banks, no IRS and no government taxing me endless fees.

No phones to ignore because I am scared to answer,

No high price doctors because there is no cancer.

A place where men and women are truly treated as equals,

Escaping that place where today will be no different than yesterday, simply a sequel.

In this place people do not judge because the color of your skin, they do not laugh because your born special, they do not ridicule you because you are fat or skinny, in this place no one will ever feel shame.

A tear drops, returning to reality I exit my domain.

It was a good poem. It shows what you feel like when you are actually depressed.

Wow! This poem is brilliantly written, and accentuates the horrific problems of the world we live in. Great job! :)
