the fragrant scent of rosemary

mixed with lavender and thyme

the violet and the peony

will lift this heart of mine .

.

the delphinium and the pure white rose

will provide beauty for my eyes

and the corner where my lilac grows

means more than i realised .

.

the fishpond with its waterfall

the bright colours of the koi

the golden showers that climb my walls

once more i will enjoy .

.

the butterflies on my buddlehia

sip nectar as they rest

bee's flit amongst my dahlia

so many garden guests .

.

the old wooden table neath the tree

where i love to sit and write

the wishing well and its history

still fills me with delight .

.

and as i sit in my eden lord

once more words of love i'll hear

the written and the spoken word

of those i hold so dear .

.

so sweetest lord i'm thanking you

from deep within this heart of mine

for the chance to make my dreams come true

and the precious gift of time .
