collection tin emits a jingle

then i hear my door-bell ring

my spine begins to tingle

as the children start to sing .

..............................................

a choir of angelic voices

now raised in christian part

once faded spirit now rejoices

as their singing lifts my heart .

.................................................

silent night - holy night

then twinkle little star

i listen with delight

oh how good these children are .

...................................................

snowflakes have started falling

how can anyone ask for more

christmas-time is calling

and its right outside my door .

................................................

mistaken people often tell me

todays youth has lost its way

yet these kids who sing so beautifully

restore the spirit of christmas day .

.........................................................

then i hear the chiming

of the church-bells as they ring

the good lord with perfect timing

approves of the songs the children sing .

...............................................................

so as you unwrap your stocking

as we always do on christmas morn

should you hear some children knocking

please let them praise the day our saviour was born .
