i've made my pact with god
he's taking me away
straightjackets for the angels
watch them pray
fire's in the sink
water's turned to wine
drink the blood
eat the flesh
til none are left alive

i've made a last request
but the butcher will not honor it
he's concerned with
the rites of human bones
and the river runs too deep
the ship will prob'ly sink
before our voices reach
a safe point

who turned out the light now
what is left in all of this now
who decided this was livin it up
a cloud over the moon
an eclipse and we're left blinded
it'll take a lot more to fix it all

i soaked your souls in sin
i bleached your minds of tolerance
i cauterized each tongue
that spoke for truth
and now you're giving in
and now the wheels aren't turning
there's no mechanics left
to start things up
