A A A

imagine this
i am death
and i'll bring you to your grave
for when the sun
goes to sleep
the crows come for our brains
and in the light of day
we can all dream the same
defeat
is eminent
i don't know why you came

the dream only lasts as long as the dreamer
i'm a catcher of sounds but you cannot hear
and the moment is lost it just disappeared
it's all up in smoke
it's all up in smoke

this is the refuge i take; medication
you smell of depression and isolation
when you could be perfectly elated
up in smoke
up in smoke

and the sounds from the car all came from the backseat
the rhythm was one i had never heard
you tapped with your toes until i heard your heartbeat
on
then i turned to you and said

imagine this
i am death
and i'll bring you to your grave
for when the sun
goes to sleep
the crows come for our brains
and in the light of day
we can all dream the same
defeat
is eminent
i don't know why you came
