I doused every impotent word
In nicotine
And alcohol

Drank until my thoughts
Were hidden away
In the dark

I drink in order
To attempt
My escape

In order to completely
Separate from
My fate

I'm just harboring
Some sort of
Resentment for

People who claimed
That I
Was intelligent

When it comes down to it
I guess that
I showed them

As every night
I sit on
This stool

And it's dim here
And I could
Use a spark

For at the beginning
of every
new day

It drains me spending
Each night
Hidden away in the dark
