I'm writing this in the way I would speak it. Sorry if the grammar is bad and the punctuation off a little but this is a true story and I want you to understand it how I want to tell it.

I had a dream. And it was more like a nightmare although, at first, i didn't know why. But it didn't really start with that dream. It started years ago when I was just a kid. I couldn't sleep. Every night since I was 6 I haven't gotten a good night's sleep unless I was exhausted. Usually I toss and turn for about 2 hours and listen to my tv blast a replay on Adult Swim until I doze off. Even then I wake up after getting only 4 hours or so.

Anyway, back to the dream. It wasvery detailed and realistic. There were no crazy buildings or anything I would normally imagine in my dreams. There were no beautiful women begging me to come with them or multi-million dollar estates with my name on the front walk. It was more like a movie where I, as a character in the dream, had an affect on the outcome, but I, as a sleeping person, could not affect the characters look or what he did. I could only watch.

Alright, now I have to give you some setting before I can tell you what was in the dream because the setting plays a very important part. It started at my moms house. The backdoor to her house faces a field of random crops on the left then a field of grass on the right. In the middle is a forest to divide them. In my dream, I woke up and walked downstairs in my mom's house to get breakfast. Then i went to the backdoor and sat on the backporch and lit up a cigarette. Out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of someting I had never seen before. It was a huge purple and white mountain with swirling gray clouds around it's peak and lightning from the clouds was striking the sides of it. That was in the field on the right. As I turned to my left I smelled something burning. Like sulfur. And In the left hand field a massive black volcano had risen up. It was spitting magma into the sky and the clouds around it were black and smokey. I darted inside the house and flipped on the news and it said the town was going to be demolished by the volcano that had sprung up overnight.

I put on my shoes not really sure where I was going but i thought a fast walk could clear my head. So I left. As I was walking, a really short guy came out of nowhere and pulled on my arm. As I looked down at his dwarfish figure he reached in his back pocket and handed me a pocket copy of the Bible. "Here," he said in a high-pitched voice, "you look like you could use this more than me. Remember, you are God's son" then he made a quick retreat to his house or wherever he came from.

Then a strange thing happened, a small gray cloud appeared and lightning started dancing around my feet whenever I stepped. So I kept walking until I got back to my house. The news said that the lava was already coming down the volcano and towards the town so I acted fast. I told my mom I knew what I had to do to save everybody and ran out the door. I ran to every house and tried to get as many people as I could to follow me. Some elderly people said they were just going to go to the church and pray and I told them that wouldn't work. They asked if I was questioning God and I said no, just the church. Finally, I got most people back to my house but there were still some people on the other side of town so I ran [in a town of 1400 people, the other side of town is 4 or 5 blocks].

The only people left on that side of town were my ex-girlfriend and her family but her parents wouldn't listen to me so i grabbed her and her little sister and booked it back to my house, but the lava was already blocking off the roads to get there so I grabbed their hands. When I did that my cloud extended over them too and we ran across the lava back to my house.

The last scene in my dream was of the damage the next day. It was one of those news chopper footages where it shows the destruction of a town from an arial view. Out of every building in the town only 4 or 5 houses were left standing. Mine was one of them. The churches were all gone.

Derive your own meaning from the dream but it's not the dream itself that is creepy. The real scare comes from what happened to me last week.

I was coming out of the forest behind Jake's house and, I admit, I was high so maybe the coincidence is all in my head is how you feel, but listen. As I was walking down the street an old man on a bicycle rode past me. Nothing was extraordinary about him except for he was short [about my height] and skinny as a toothpick. He was also dressed how someone would have dressed in the 1930's and his bike was dated about the same. I remember when he rode past me that I thought to myself 'That guy is incredibly tiny!' then he stopped.

When I walked up to where he stopped, he pulled two pamphlets out of his back pocket and said, "Here, you look like you could use this." And then he told me that everyone sins, it's just that the forgiven go to heaven and that the ones who never ask for forgiveness don't and that when God calls on me, don't be angry just do what he asks.

I looked at the booklets. They were those little propaganda ones that you get from door to door Christians, but i thanked him and he rode away. I have never seen that man in town before or since then.

The dream and the coincidence are confusing to me.I have several theories as to what the dream might mean, but I'm not for sure. Maybe the man on the bicycle means I'm one step closer to finding out what it really means.
