I feel the prick of a thousand needless needles
Making my skin buzz
The sun is beating down
And this is all I've wanted for so long
I'm like a Kinks song
Just lazing on a sunny afternoon
It feels so good to get away
And pause the world's rotation for a day
It can all survive without me
And if it should fall apart
I'll kneel down and pick up the pieces
Brush them off
And tape them together

I hear the sound of my out of tune guitar
That perfectly matches my weak
And weary voice
It carries across the park
The children all stare at this shaggy haired,
Bearded, drunken mess
Underneath the tree
Like he's a mad man
They haven't yet realized
How crazy life can be
I want nothing to do with them
And they, less with me
I just want to relax
Be drunk and merry
Underneath this old oak tree
