A sales man, a clerk, a small store owners worker

An accountant, a lawyer, a corporation’s stock broker

A soldier fights the fight worth fighting

Never again to write the poem worth writing

A man meets his lover cold hearted

She’s ready to kill and keeps him well guarded

A soldier goes off to a long awaited honeymoon

Where he finds only bloodshed and infinite ruin

A day’s lost is only a day’s gain

Fighting for his brothers and that small hope of rain

A soldier feels no pain and no fear as he slowly falls

His brothers must move on past his unanswered calls

For the little sister who lost her brother

For the humbled dad and grieving mother

A soldier is no longer fighting for those worth fighting for

But as for the unwritten poem, well, it goes unwritten no more
