At six o’clock on the seventh,

All was quiet in the lagoon.

The church bells were ringing sporadically,

But danger was starting to loom.

By seven-fifteen that same day,

A monotonous low roar filled the air.

In the sky above the volcanic hills,

We all began to stare.

A minute or two later,

Dark shadows had filled the clouds.

Japanese planes were coming,

The people began to frown.

Looking over the harbour,

On that gruesome and frightful day,

We saw a great white blinding flash,

Followed by an incredible colossal fray.

We woke up the next morning.

I slept ‘till half past dawn.

It wasn’t ‘till a nurse came in,

That I realized Pearl Harbor had been bombed.
