I am a living soldier stuck in the world of dead

I wonder if I'll become one of them

I hear screams of pain and agony

I see bodies all around me

I am a living soldier stuck in the world of dead

I pretend not to notice the danger with every step

I feel the wetness of the trenches and the rats at my feet

I touch the shoulder of a fallen man

I worry I will be next

I cry for I am weak

I am a living soldier stuck in the world of dead

I understand my moment can come at anytime

I say they can not take me

I dream of peace and to go home

I try to say the day will come

I hope to stay strong

I am a soldier stuck in the world of dead.
