They are gone, no replacing them...

I shut my eyes, I see nothing.

Where did they go, I will never know...

 

if I had them, I would hold them.

But I can't, but what if I could.

I will never know.

 

i remember them vividly as If they were never gone.

I never thought they would be gone.

what if they truly are gone.

i will never know.

 

because of this I hold them.

Not cause I have to, nor cause I want to.

But because they are mine.

Makes me wonder what "they" or "them" are. Very interesting though, makes me think of a little kid talking about they're stuffed animals. Which means that your emotions were very strong in this, well done.
