With a chill delicacy does she, Autumn’s eve,

Drape her velvet cloak about my pale neck

Without a sound the deep shades billow still,

Imbuing all with a melancholy ecstasy

Rubies aflame, ambers aglow, swoon

Ever graceful in their patient death throes

Falling to rest, falling to rest

The efflorescent maze reveals to me its mysteries

Quietly I go,

Quietly I go.
