Just a poem I wrote. Any advice or opinions are welcome.

In the middle of the ocean

In the deep, vast sea,

That is where she found--

where she rescued me.

And a great raft she was

as we battled though the storm.

But before I had known it,

her bindings had worn.

Not too long would she last,

for her bindings were old.

With her last last, dying breath,

her wishes were told;

"Before I wilt,

I have but one wish:

Hold on to your life,

for the tides shall shift.

And do your best--

Oh! Please, do try!

To stay above

of this horrid tide!"

And from this world

she did depart.

Her bindings--her ropes!

She fell apart.

There, she left me

all alone--

in the ravenous sea

to fend for my own.

My struggle was short,

and my enthusiasm was lame.

And I heard those waves

call out my sweet name.

I remembered her wishes,

but they did not suffice.

I preffered what was easy,

which, for sure, wasn't life.

So then I decided

to let all else go.

I give it all up

selfishly so!

Subdued to the trenches beneath

that call my sweet name,

knowing her words--her wishes!--

would all go in vain.

I did not try

and struggled, I failed.

Not caring, I sunk

as the last wind wailed.

Now I am nothing

with nothing but shame.

because her words--

her wishes! Her last requests!

Because I let her dear words

all go in vain...

I really love this. It's so deep and meaningful. I love your use of metaphors. :)

Thank you :)
I really like it too. I'm sure it's one of my bests if not my favorite.
