More Powerful Prayer Regimen

by  E. J. T. BRADLEY

Prayer is conversation between the person(s) praying and all Members of the Blessed and Holy Trinity who are: the Lord God, Our Heavenly Father; the Lord God, Jesus Christ and the Lord God, Holy Spirit as well as all Members of God’s Heavenly Host. This prayer regimen is comprised of standard Roman Catholic Prayers and of unique personal prayers presented with the idea of strengthening the faith and spirituality of the person saying them so that, by the Grace of God, they may become more conscientious, assertive, militant, warrior-like and empowered in the practice of their Christian Faith. The standard Roman Catholic Prayer to Saint Michael has had some wording added to strengthen the prayer and added wording appears in bold italics. Italicized parts of the Act of Contrition reflect the wording, as learned by myself, in1953, and which has since been revised. Or so I think or seem to recall.

All Christians are invited to review these prayers to see which of them they would like to make part of their own personal daily prayer regimen. All prayer is best said in private and, even when said aloud, beyond the hearing of others who are not part of the prayer experience or session. If, when alone, you prefer to say your prayers aloud and there is the chance you might be overheard by someone not praying with you, then say them in silence.

TO BEGIN A PRAYER SESSION (Say while making the Sign Of The Cross.)

In the Name of The Father and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit. Amen.

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS

Lord God, Heavenly Father; Lord God, Jesus Christ and Lord God, Holy Spirit:

Please forgive me all my sins, cleanse my soul completely of them, restore me fully to Your State Of Grace and enable me to not repeat them in the future. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PROTECTION

Lord God, Heavenly Father; Lord God, Jesus Christ and Lord God, Holy Spirit:

Please send forth Your Holy Spirit; Saint Michael, The Archangel; Saint John, The Baptist; Saint John, The Apostle; Saint Joan of Arc; Saint John Fisher; Saint Thomas, The Apostle; Saint Thomas a Becket; Saint Thomas More; all of Your Holy Archangels, Angels and Saints to:

(Name Those (include yourself) For Whom You Wish To Pray), to all who speak and act in Your behalf as well as all persons, who You deem worthy, having contact with any one of us. Protect us all from all manner of harm and evil to which we may be exposed or may be directed against us today and every day for the rest of our lives. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE HEALING OF PERSONAL ILLNESS & WEAKNESS

Lord God, Heavenly Father; Lord God, Jesus Christ and Lord God, Holy Spirit:

Please heal me of : (Name all of your own illnesses and weaknesses, known to you, and of which you wish to be healed.). I pray and ask that You, personally, will bless me by sending Your Healing And Comforting Holy Spirit to heal me of all these as well as all of my other weakness whether they be physical, mental, moral, spiritual, psychological and/or emotional, whatever they may be and/or whether or not I may be aware of and/or have yet to experience them. Make me into a healthy, whole, strong and happy human being in service to You. Amen.

ROMAN CATHOLIC PRAYER

THE LORD’S PRAYER (Recite 3 times)

Our Father, Who Art In Heaven,

Hallowed Be Thy Name.

Thy Kingdom Come.

Thy Will Be Done On Earth As It Is In Heaven.

Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread;

And Forgive Us Our Trespasses(Debts)

As We Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Us(Our Debtors);

And Lead Us Not Into Temptation,

But Deliver Us From Evil.

For The Kingdom, The Power And The Glory are Yours. Now And Forever. Amen.

HAIL MARY (Recite 3 times)

Hail Mary, Full of Grace,

The Lord Is With Thee.

Blessed Art Thou Among Women And

Blessed Is The Fruit Of Thy Womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother Of God,

Pray For Us Sinners,

Now And At The Hour Of Our Death. Amen.

GLORY (BE) TO THE FATHER

Glory Be To The Father,

And To The Son,

And To The Holy Spirit.

As It Was In The Beginning,

Is Now And Ever Shall Be,

World Without End. Amen.

PRAYER TO YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL

Angel Of God, My Guardian Dear.

To Whom, God’s Love, Entrusts Me Here.

Ever This Day, Be At My Side,

To Watch And Guard,

Inform And Guide. Amen.

ACT OF CONTRITION

Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee and I detest all my sins because (of Thy just punishment or I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of hell), but, most of all, because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all good and deserving of all my love.

I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy Grace, (to sin no more, confess all my sins (and to avoid the near occasion of sin or do penance and amend my life )). Amen.

PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL, THE ARCHANGEL (Recite 3 times)

Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

May God, Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit rebuke him, Oh Lord.

And do Thou, Oh Prince of the Heavenly Host, By the Power of the God,

the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord, Jesus Christ and in His Most Holy Name,

thrust into hell, Satan and all evil spirits, prowling the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

What follows are prayer(s), developed by myself for my own personal use, which are being shared to assist you with your own personal prayer life or "conversation with the Lord". Hope you find them helpful.

PRAYER FOR THE HEALING & COMFORTING OF YOURSELF & OTHERS

Lord God, Heavenly Father; Lord God, Jesus Christ and Lord God, Holy Spirit:

Please send forth Your Healing and Comforting Holy Spirit to:

(Name those persons (include yourself) you want the Lord to bless. For example: persons in your own family; friends; those who have ever befriended you and/or have made a positive contribution to your life; those with whom you work, attend school, serve your community/city/state/country etc.; anyone for whom you feel concern; and (if you have the stomach for it) your enemies or those who have harmed you.).

To all persons, who You would bless, if I could but name them. To those persons I would want You to bless but, at this moment, are either: unknown to me, whose names I cannot recall or have not time to mention.

Please heal us all of all manner of illness, disease, sickness, disability, handicap, injury, pain and/or hostility with which we may be suffering. Please restore us all to good health and enable us all to become Instruments of Your Peace and Your Purpose.

At the same time, reveal to each of us: 1. The mission and purpose You wish for each of us to fulfill with our lives. And then. 2. The steps we will need to take to fulfill that same mission and purpose. And then 3. Imbue us with the courage, insight and resources we will need to take those steps in the most timely, intelligent and effective manner. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PERSONAL DAILY EFFECTIVENESS OF YOURSELF & OTHERS

Lord God, Heavenly Father; Lord God, Jesus Christ and Lord God, Holy Spirit:

Please make (say the names of all for whom you are praying) and myself:

Instruments of Your Peace and Your Purpose by sending forth Your Healing And Comforting Holy Spirit to all persons with whom we will have contact today and everyday for the rest of our lives. Amen.

PRAYER FOR DAILY PERSONAL PROTECTION

Lord God, Heavenly Father; Lord God, Jesus Christ and Lord God, Holy Spirit:

Please send forth Your Holy Spirit; Saint Michael, The Archangel; Saint John, The Baptist; Saint John, The Apostle; Saint Joan of Arc; Saint John Fisher; Saint Thomas, The Apostle; Saint Thomas a Becket; Saint Thomas More; all of Your Holy Archangels, Angels and Saints to: Meet and greet every person with whom I will have contact today.

To those persons, with whom I will have contact, who are of good will, mean no harm, are well-intentioned and seek to do the right thing, even though they may fail miserably in their honest and earnest attempt to do what is right. and To those, with whom I will have contact, who do good work and make a positive and constructive contribution to the workplace (or in any other situation), even though they may be psychologically and emotionally indifferent and uncommitted to You. Please heal them and comfort them and provide them with Your constant assurance and reassurance that they have nothing to fear or to be concerned about with respect to myself in terms of my intentions, my thoughts, my words and/or my deeds.

To any other persons, with whom I will have contact and who You, personally, know are of ill-will, personally corrupt or maliciously intended. Especially those who have evidenced themselves by knowingly and intentionally harmed other innocent people for reasons motivated by selfishness, sadism, stupidity or any combination of 2 or more of these 3 things. The persons who come most readily to my mind, as I say this prayer, are: (Tell the Lord, the names of those of whom you are thinking and what wrongful acts you believe they have done.). But, as always, I’ll let You decide who these people are and what kind of treatment to visit upon them. All I ask is that You keep them away from me and me away from them.

Amen.

PRAYER FOR DAILY PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT

Lord God, Heavenly Father; Lord God, Jesus Christ and Lord God, Holy Spirit:

I pray and ask that You will please grant and send me all of Your Blessings, Graces, Gifts and Gifts of the Holy Spirit and, to do so, with and by the Power of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord, Jesus Christ and In His Most Holy Name. Amen.

TO END A PRAYER SESSION (Say while making the Sign Of The Cross.)

In the Name of The Father and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit. Amen.
