rolling over .waking up and scratching my head ........ strecthing . standing tall and looking back at my bed ...... as i wash my face cautious of the soap to my eyes............ i look in the mirror and then realize ...............

years ago the bahamas was ruled by the british ...............

this is a fact i find a lil \"coolish\"...............

700 islands and only 37 yeas ago ...............

we got our indepence when people still had an afro...............

am only 14 and cant fully understand ...............

when the first time bahamians sung \"march on bahamaland\"...............

they struggled so hard to get where they is ...............

there goes the mace into the morning mist...............

this is historical ..am proud of my country ...............

and tonite we celebrate under a mango tree...............

it must have been really historical ,something to brag...............

when they first raised the bahamian flag...............

people crying and tears of joy...............

i wasnt there am just a 14year ole boy...............

but i can imagine the joy the felt............... after the flag raising they all knelt ...............

gathered together to sing the national anthem the first time...............

singing to timothy gibsons best rhymn............... there goes the british anthem ...............

and up grows another in the blossom...............

aquamarine.gold and black is all i want to see ...............

since july 10 1973...............

i thank god for the people who made it possible...............

the bahamas we prove to be unstoppable...............

we grow together towards a loftier goal............... we strive for the bahamas until we grow old ...............

i love my bahamas ,i'll pledge with my right hand ...............

\"march on, march on, march on bahamaland \"...............
