gone are the days whe i was just a child
gone are the days when i was mild and wild
gone are the days when hope and faith defined life
gone are the days when treasures used to find

Tue, August 30th, 2011 8:14amChildhood days are so precious and carve out who we become in life. Although my childhood days are so long ago they are always days I treasure and think back on with love and thanks. Like Gideon said, a writer is always a child at heart and that's a lovely place to be. Lovely poem and it gets my like it vote .... Pat

Mon, October 24th, 2011 7:08pmAw, WOW! It's BEAUTIFUL, i LOVED the rhyming scheme, full of deep emotions, Short yet very Expressive.
i can relate to it.
I guess every one can relate to it. Brilliant! :)
Keep writing! :)
Gideon sent me to your page, and I'm sure glad I visited: this poem captures the innocence of childhood so well!
Thu, December 1st, 2011 5:03pmThis indeed reflects me. Believe it or not Yuki, for we both are almost equal aged, I feel like having grown old. I kinda yearn to get the lost childhood. It really reflects me. I loved my insouciant childhood, and now life is fretful.
And I've taken up a similar theme in my poem "Strange, Life is!" haha... Yes, I long to be a child again - though all of you may debate I'm not at all old.
I love this poem Yuki. An exquisite expression! I love this...
Take care :)

Wow thank you thank you. Yuki!!! You really made my day. The truth remains that i never enjoyed my childhood. I grew way too fast. I may still be young but i look and feel so old for my age. I could pass for an adult but deep within my heart, there's a child dying for a chance to express itself. Its terrible how i feel and each day I crave to be a child once again. I'll read that your poem
Thu, December 8th, 2011 7:24amoh I forgot to mention: Disneyland is misspelt to 'desneyland'
Thu, December 8th, 2011 8:37amSo true, and filled with feeling, yet so woderfuly small.
Loved it as always
Love~Mary Jo
Couldn't agree more with you " gone are the days" , the happy, hopeful and cheerful days of our childhood .
good one :)
very precious, a bright candle of wondrous memories. Certainly love your awesome work, keep it up! Be in touch, Vincey
Sat, February 4th, 2012 9:00pmWell, dear, I love this. It really catches the innocence of childhood in a light I honestly do not think I have seen.
Ok, but I few things bugged me just a little bit. I believe 'desneyland' is meant to be Disney Land' and on the last line I'm pretty sure 'ectasy' is supposed to be 'ecstasy'
All in all, well done honey! Love this one also:)
Thank you again for posting your work
loved the line 'hope and faith defined life' , your poem is beautiful loved it!
Wed, August 22nd, 2012 4:35pmthis poem made me realized how much i really missed my childhood...man...thank you for taking me back down memory lane
Fri, August 24th, 2012 3:43pmohh you said it .. adult life is so boring and monotonous .. we all move in a single line ... we forget to see the colors of life and rather live in a black and white world ... childhood was the best .. we don't follow rules but we make our own .. no malice, no hard feelings , no remorse .. only hope and delight as we take in a new day ... lovely piece .. made me nostalgic and want to go back to my childhood .. good job :)
Wed, December 26th, 2012 10:47amGone maybe the old days, but forget those, they are no less a part of you than today. Enjoy the moment, for this is more important than either the past or the present, and how we spend the moment, is up to each one, individually.
Let God guide your way, and Basque in the light that is His.
All the best.
Kath.
Gone are the days..you made me miss my gone days ..SIMPLE and SUPERB!

So true, i can feel your emotion in this and i can relate a lot. everything was a lot more simpler when you could find days of joy with a cardboard box! lol I've written a poem called, 'Time Machine' which is very similar on the topic and i thought you may be interested in, keep writing!!
