this is a poem about my friend who was suicidal and her trip out of depression. It actually is a song, but it can also be a poem.

Stare through the rain.

Open your eyes.

Even in this pain.

You will be fine.

Have some faith

and believe.

Nothing'd be the same.

You can't leave.

Don't let go.

Please hang on.

Before you know,

It you're gone.

Promise you'll stay.

I'll do what it takes.

Don't slip away.

This is for you.

That only makes it worse.

In the long run it kills.

You do it for hurt.

But also for thrills.

Get up off the floor.

Fall to the sky.

Run out the door.

Lift off and fly.

Stay alive.

If only for me.

This is your night

To open and see.

Wish for the best

And get what you hope

They're melting away.

You're learning to cope.

New wings and new spirit.

Now learning to soar.

Starting to feel it

Yet still learning more.

Holding on,

Not letting go.

You're coming home.

Starting to say,

“I have what it takes”

Following the way,

And this,

This is for you.

Head held high,

Open and free

You learned how to fly

Now you can see.

You know how to live.

You held on. You never let go.

Before you knew it you're back.

And you know when you say “I have what it takes.”

You followed the way

And that,

That was for you.
