When you were a child,
young and innocent,
Back in the days of sun,
the past, future, present
Where everything was fun,
Everything was joy,
Back when you were a little girl or boy,
When the only thing that hurt,
was a bump or a bruise,
A scrape or a scratch,
THere was nothing to lose,
Because no one was going to take it away,
Not in the childhood day,
When there was no murder,
no death, no pain,
No broken souls, slaughtered and slain,
No shattered hearts and dreams,
Everything was peaceful it seemed,
THrough child's eyes,
you couldn't see,
the pain, the hurt and lies,
There was no grief, no misery,
And you all wanted to grow up quickly,
Into this world,
when you were a little boy or girl,
Now look at the world,
Everything is broken,
ANd you realize,
THis isn't the place of a little girl,
Through a child's eyes.
Now you wish you could turn back,
to the days without lies,
Without drugs, cigarettes, alchohol,
The daysthrough the child's eyes,
Without death, no broken hearts,
Nothing there to break you apart.
And you sit back and wonder,
You're now a big girl,
and wonder why you wanted to grow up,
Into such a broken world
