Plugged in & ready to leave
For the rat race that we call our day
We’re so fuck'n conditioned
As we all walk in the same lines
Taking us to the place
Where we waste our hours
Living someone else’s dream
My time is precious
I’ve been called, that I know
I cannot follow the pack
Who all run for the train currently
Sitting on the tracks
I wait for the next one
I’m still a part of this race; however, not for long
I’m doing it my way
It’s my incredible journey
I see it every day
No one smiles or greets you in Toronto
And if you say good morning to a stranger
They’re immediately on guard
Wondering what your intentions are
All I wanted to do was express my Gratitude that my eyes opened today
I’m alive
I was given the gift of another day
Why do I need to turn to my phone
To express the love I have for life
