The man followed the slow train along the curb. All he could think about was how excited he was to meet his online girlfriend for the first time. They had been chatting for months, and he could already tell that she was his type. He could even go as far as saying he'd found his soulmate.
Once the doors opened, he stepped onto the train, eager to get a good seat. He picked a seat near the door and settled in. The train started up again and he watched the city whiz by the window.
When the train pulled into his stop, he hastily got up and rushed out the doors. He shielded his eyes, looking around for his date. There were only a few people there. A few homeless men smoking cigarettes and one elderly lady looking at her phone. His date had... stood him up? He hung his head and turned back to the train. Then, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He spun around. It was the elderly woman.
"Jason?" No. Way. He, a grown man, had gotten catfished?
"Are you... Melanie?" She grinned a toothless grin.
"Yep, hun." He grimaced and sprinted for the train.
