(Top) Edwin Encarnacion is now a Mariner.

The first big trade in the offseason has taken place in Major League Baseball.

The Cleveland Indians have traded Edwin Encarnacion to the Seattle Mariners for first baseman, Carlos Santana.

The Indians were seeking to cut down their payroll.

This trade saves Cleveland $7 million next season.

In 2018, Encarnacion had 123 hits, a .246 batting average, 32 home runs, and 107 RBIs.

Santana had 128 hits, a .229 batting average, 24 home runs, and 86 RBIs in 2018.
